Sedation Dentistry aims to keep you comfortable during dental procedures. There are varying levels of sedation dentistry based on your unique needs. This procedure is performed by a Dental Anesthesiologist.

• Nitrous oxide (laughing gas) achieves mild sedation, where you are awake and can communicate with the dentist, but you may feel some relaxation or calmness.
• Intravenous (IV) moderation sedation is when a single medication is used directly into your bloodstream through an IV line. Moderate sedation will help you feel more relaxed than nitrous oxide and patients may have little memory of the procedure.
• In some cases, deep sedation or general anesthesia may be necessary so that you can be completely asleep. This is used for treating young children, adults with special needs or people with severe dental anxiety or gagging.
